Born from a passion to infuse Old World craftsmanship into a bag for the 21st Century modern woman-on-the-go, Patricia Nash offers 100% authentic handcrafted Italian leather handbags at an accessible price and unparalleled quality. Fascinated by genuine handcrafted Italian leather for over 20 years, designer Patricia Nash journeyed from country to country visiting vintage European clothing and accessory shops and realized there was a white space in the American market for handcrafted, European vintage-inspired, leather goods for the modern woman today. This became the inspiration behind the brand and thus, Patricia Nash handbags were born.
Patricia Nash specializes in bags with handmade details (design, hand-crafted stitching, and special finishes such as burned edges) made with rich, vegetable-tanned leather. The deep embossed grape leaf is the signature emblem of Patricia Nash and is a signature feature on most styles. The brand also features bags with exclusive, floral prints on leather, which evolves each season with styles in suede, tooled leather, oil rubbed leather, over-dyed leather and many more. Each handbag has its own story that portrays a time and place from Nash's European travels exploring old inns, villages, markets and the countryside.
Originally from Houston, TX, Nash has always been in touch with travel and adventure throughout her life; from airplane rides with her father, a pilot, to exploring Europe with her husband, she has traveled the globe for over decades. Nash, is also a business-savvy woman, founded and served as CEO of Innovo Inc., where she combined her considerable design talents with her marketing and business smarts to produce collections for a wide range of international clients, Disney and Warner Bros, as well as for major domestic and foreign retailers like Banana Republic, Express, American Eagle and more. She then created Marc Ecko Enterprises Accessories LLC., and served as the company's president. After leaving Marc Ecko Enterprises, Nash launched Patricia Nash Designs and debuted her namesake collection at trade shows in May 2010 and was quickly picked up by top department stores (Nordstrom, Dillard's, etc.) for the fall season.
Patricia Nash has several collections within the brand; with the most notable and best-selling being the Heritage Collection. Each bag is made of vegetable-tanned leather and displays a burned edge finish with a heavy hand-crafted stitch, and is adorned with hand-crafted signature hardware. Patricia Nash's best selling classic shapes, the Barcellona, Venezia and Benvenuto styles are multi-functional and great for the everyday task. The Tooled Collection is inspired by Nash's mother's prized, tooled handbag she had for over 65 years and is created for the fashion forward trendsetter gal. The collection draws from various methods of hand-tooling leather perfected by old-world craftsmen over many centuries. The deep tooling and embossing is reminiscent of old world leather engraving but updated with a modern twist. The Oil Rub Collection is inspired by an oil-tanning process, preserved for hundreds of years, that creates a soft, pliable finish to natural, cleaned leather skins. Over time, the skins wear naturally, revealing lighter or darker tones. Patricia Nash also offers a Suede Artisan Collection, available in Light Grey, Honey Camel or Brown, that is perfect to add to a summer or fall outfit for a bohemian aesthetic. Patricia Nash additionally offers small leather goods including wallets, coin purses and clutches.
Patricia Nash Designs is based in Knoxville, TN, with its showroom in NYC, and sold in major retail department stores nationwide including Dillard's, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Von Maur, to name a few, with prices ranging between $98 and $298; www.patricianashdesigns.com.
